As with most rural communities, being isolated
and not having access to transport is a key issue in the area. Our charity has two minibuses available to transport people to and from the ADCT Centre, luncheon clubs, into town to be able to do their
shopping and on trips and outings.
There are an average of 2,000 passenger journeys made each
month which results in a significant impact across the
local community, helping to reduce the likelihood of loneliness and social isolation. This can be particularly important for individuals who have mobility or other health problems which means getting around can be very difficult.
In addition, we have a number of volunteers who provide a car
service, taking people to medical, hospital and dental
The service includes accompanying people to their appointment if required. Over 100 such journeys are made each month
Please call Alison Wright on 01263 733385 and she will organise one of our dedicated drivers to use their car to collect you from your house and bring you home again.
There is a small cost for this service to cover mileage etc.
